POV of a woman in Hell, looking at the world of the living for her husband (12 years older) and daughter, who is getting married. I had to decide on the ages right away, and whether or not the woman ages in Hell and how long she has been there. Planning definitely helps put this story in perspective, but I've realized after I've planned their background stories, I start to lose interest in actually writing that specific story. I need to find a balance between planning and simply creating
Father abandonment in the world of internet dating (which is actually supposed to represent the difficulties of a daughter having to deal with a father who is obsessed about something that is almost surreal and unattainable), but that's for another time and place.
Man who spent his childhood training in a circus. A man who saved a young girl from committing suicide three times, married her, worked hard to make a life in America working at the casinos in Vegas, and brought her there. The story takes place in the hospital before his death, gazing back at the time he needed spiritual guidance, and opened his heart to a stranger about how his wife tried to smash his head in with a large, ceramic soup bowl while he was sleeping. How he called the ambulance and didn't press charges. How they separated, but never divorced. How his wife took all of his money from him, and demanded that he pay for their son's college tuition with only $2000 in his bank account. How he fell into the depths of gambling and dark markets. And he looks back to how this stranger opened his heart as well to talk about his wife and her gun and her suicide.
